On May 5th, 2026, PCPCRC members presented the results of a program of research looking at bereavement interventions.
Koby Anderson (Bruyère Health Research Institute) presented “Long-term bereavement outcomes in family members of those who died in acute care hospitals before and during the first wave of COVID-19: A cohort study” and “Preliminary findings: Transcranial magnetic stimulation to treat prolonged grief disorder.”
Dr. Leah O’Shea (University of Ottawa) presented “Family member bereavement supportive interventions during the COVID-19 pandemic: A systematic review” and “Spousal bereavement in long term care: A retrospective cohort study describing and exploring the impact on end-of-life transitions.”
Dr. Colleen Webber (Bruyère Health Research Institute) presented “Maternal bereavement in Ontario: A population-based retrospective cohort study using linked health administrative data.”
