Welcome!

We are thrilled to launch the website for the Pan-Canadian Palliative Care Research Collaborative, or PCPCRC. We’ve come a long way from the seedling idea of the PCPCRC planted almost five years ago now, when Drs James Downar and Bruno Gagnon co-founded the collaborative along with two dozen other palliative care researchers. With a vision to improve palliative care by building infrastructure for good research ideas to be shared and executed, the PCPCRC has become the home for Canadian palliative care research. What started as a small group meeting in a hotel in Toronto, Ontario has grown to a network of over 100 people who have a passion for palliative care and are involved in over 25 programs of research, with no signs of slowing down. We are so grateful to our members, partners, and funders who have helped us get here, and we’re excited for what comes next on this voyage towards changing palliative care for the better. Whether you’re a patient, caregiver, clinician, researcher, trainee, or other stakeholder, we’re glad you’re here. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
